Focal Point, STMicroelectronics commercialize joint automotive GNSS solution

Focal Point and STMicroelectronics have entered into a commercial agreement to bring their jointly developed automotive GNSS solution to market, expanding a collaboration that began in 2025. The agreement combines FocalPoint’s S-GNSS Auto software with STMicroelectronics’ Teseo GNSS receivers to improve positioning reliability in challenging environments.

The companies said the integrated solution is designed to improve GNSS performance in environments such as urban canyons, tree-lined roads and other areas where signal reflections and degradation can reduce positioning accuracy. The software is delivered as a firmware upgrade for Teseo devices, allowing automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to enhance positioning performance without additional hardware.

According to Focal Point, the solution builds on its patented Supercorrelation technology, which is designed to mitigate multipath interference and improve receiver sensitivity. The company said recent global testing showed the combined S-GNSS Auto and Teseo platform outperformed conventional commercial-grade GNSS solutions in difficult operating conditions. The companies are targeting deployment in both current and next-generation vehicle platforms.

“We’re delighted to enter this commercial agreement with ST in addition to becoming an ST Authorized Partner, taking our collaboration to the next level,” said Scott Pomerantz, CEO of FocalPoint. “Our joint solution addresses the GNSS reliability pain points experienced by many OEMs when architecting their ADAS solutions.”

Luca Celant, general manager of STMicroelectronics’ Digital Audio and Signal Solutions Division, said the agreement expands the company’s automotive GNSS portfolio by integrating S-GNSS Auto with its Teseo platform. He added that future roadmap developments, including FocalPoint’s Precise+ technology, are intended to support sub-meter positioning performance in difficult environments while accelerating advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) applications.

Evaluation kits featuring S-GNSS Auto running on Teseo V and Teseo VI receivers are now available for automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and ecosystem partners, according to the companies.
