The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will launch the NVS-03 satellite aboard the GSLV-F18 rocket from Sriharikota on Oct. 30, according to India Today. The mission seeks to restore NavIC capabilities after earlier satellite setbacks.

“That is one of the launch dates we are looking at. Most probably, we will be able to launch NVS-03 on October 30,” a senior ISRO official told the media on Monday.

The NVS-03 will be carried aboard the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mk-2 on the GSLV-F18 mission. launch is scheduled to take place from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 11:51 p.m. local time.

ISRO scientists have explained that NavIC was developed to reduce India’s dependence on foreign navigation systems, particularly for critical applications such as military operations, disaster management, marine navigation and transport.
