Trimble has introduced new GNSS receiver technology designed to improve positioning performance and resilience against jamming and spoofing.
The new Trimble BD1090, BD1092, BD1092i and BX1092i receiver modules use the company’s Maxwell 8 technology and are intended for OEM integrators serving the geospatial, marine, construction and mining industries.
According to Trimble, the receivers provide increased processing capability, multi-constellation and multi-frequency signal tracking, and new anti-jamming and anti-spoofing capabilities.
The company also introduced Trimble JammerGuard, a technology designed to help receivers detect and mitigate interference and provide protection against spoofed positioning signals.
Trimble said the new technology builds on its existing GNSS positioning and signal-protection technologies, including the Trimble ProPoint positioning engine, IonoGuard technology for mitigating ionospheric disruptions, and RTX-NMA signal authentication technology.
Maxwell 8 technology
The Maxwell 8-enabled receivers include expanded channel capacity for simultaneous tracking of multiple GNSS constellations and frequencies, which Trimble said can improve positioning availability and data integrity.
The technology also includes a quad-core CPU and DDR4 RAM, providing four times the processing power of its predecessor, according to the company.
Other features include:
- All-in-view tracking: Expanded channel capacity for simultaneous multi-constellation and multi-frequency reception.
- Increased processing power: A quad-core CPU and DDR4 RAM to support sensor fusion and other computational processes.
- Performance in high-vibration environments: MEMS-based oscillators designed to provide lower vibration sensitivity.
- Support for future constellations: Compatibility with emerging low Earth orbit positioning and navigation constellations, including demonstration signals from Xona Pulsar.
- Enhanced precision: An improved inertial measurement unit designed to provide orientation and stability.
Trimble said the combination of increased processing power and signal protection is intended to support operations in environments affected by vibration, signal obstruction, interference and jamming.
Wim Balvert, workshop and innovation manager at marine contractor Van Oord, said the company evaluated Trimble’s next-generation anti-jamming technology during dredging, infrastructure and offshore energy operations in the Middle East and Baltic region.
The new receivers and Maxwell 8 technology will be displayed at ION GNSS+ 2026, Sept. 14-18 in Orlando, Florida, and at INTERGEO 2026, Sept. 15-17 in Munich.
