Telit Cinterion, an end-to-end internet of things (IoT) solutions enabler, is exhibiting at The Things Conference taking place Sept. 22-23, at De Kromhouthal in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
At Booth M6, the company is demonstrating an integrated cellular and GNSS high-accuracy positioning solution for connected IoT applications. The demonstration runs on Telit Cinterion cellular and GNSS hardware. A NExT SIM card provides network access.
The system uses the Telit Cinterion CMB100 development kit equipped with a CMB100 LTE Cat 1 bis module. Through AT commands issued in the kit’s onboard ST microcontroller environment, the module establishes a network connection and downloads Skylark Nx RTK MSM5 GNSS correction data from Swift Navigation via NTRIP (Networked Transport of RTCM via Internet Protocol).
The correction data is then injected into a MIKROE GNSS 19 Click board equipped with a Telit Cinterion SE868K5-RTK GNSS receiver. During testing, the receiver achieved outstanding positioning precision within 1-2 centimeters on average.
The same approach, using the SE868K5-D module variant and the Skylark DX MSM1 DGNSS correction data via NTRIP, achieved an average positioning precision of better than 50 centimeters.
A unified graphical interface allows users to issue commands to the microcontroller, which coordinates cellular connectivity and GNSS functions. A dedicated GNSS monitoring interface displays receiver data in real time for debugging and analysis, giving developers visibility into the complete positioning workflow.
