EagleNXT launches new flagship sensor Altum-PT Pro with enhanced radiometric thermal imaging

Innovative sensor delivers synchronized multispectral, panchromatic, and high-resolution thermal data in a single payload.

EagleNXT unveiled the Altum-PT Pro, a new flagship sensor in its MicaSense portfolio, at the annual Commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (CUAV) trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The company is a provider of full-stack drone, counter-UAS, and specialty sensor system solutions for defense, government, and commercial applications worldwide.

The Altum-PT Pro provides research-grade inputs by capturing synchronized multispectral, panchromatic, and high-resolution radiometric thermal data in a single payload. This enables precise aerial mapping and analysis for agricultural research, environmental monitoring, defense applications, and ecological studies.

“Customer feedback has been clear, users want the integrated thermal capability of the Altum-PT and also need science-grade thermal performance,” said Bill Irby, CEO of EagleNXT. “This sensor delivers higher-resolution radiometric thermal data while preserving the multispectral and panchromatic performance researchers depend on. The Altum-PT Pro delivers for users at the high end of the market, giving advanced users greater confidence in their datasets.”

Building on the proven Altum-PT architecture, the Altum-PT Pro introduces the FLIR Boson 640R radiometric thermal sensor along with supporting firmware updates and internal hardware adjustments, while retaining the core multispectral and panchromatic capabilities.

  • Designed for multirotor compatibility, capable of being used with VTOL platforms in high-endurance, large-area missions.

Potential markets for the new sensor include drone OEMs and integrators developing specialized aerial mapping systems. The Altum-PT Pro directly addresses demand signals in the premium segment, particularly from multi-sensor platforms , while reinforcing the company’s leadership in scientifically validated multispectral sensing.

“Researchers and professionals in a variety of fields can use this sensor for crop analysis, environmental monitoring, identifying early issues on solar farms for hotspots or maintenance, working industrial inspections, temperature data, and developing precise mapping, all with this single sensor. The Altum-PT Pro will take detailed color-spectrum, black-and-white, and higher-resolution heat images together in one flight, providing researchers with quick, pinpointed outputs specific to their objectives,” said Irby.

U.S. customers can now order the advanced Altum-PT Pro sensor. International availability is planned for November.
