Procon Debuts Cube GPS for Auto Tracking

January 5, 2009

Procon Inc. has launched what it says is the smallest GPS tracking device in the mobile resource management industry, dubbing it the Cube.

The Cube sports a rugged, automotive-grade housing that is durable and heat resistant, according, to the company. Procon will be distributing this device through its subprime automotive finance subsidiary, GoldStar GPS.

"The Cube will change the way the subprime finance automotive industry thinks about GPS tracking devices," said Kyle Fjelstad vice president of product development for Procon. The compact design enables a stealthy installation, yet maintains a significant amount of space at the circuit board level to assure GPS performance, according to the company.

"The custom hypersensitive GPS antenna is designed to overcome the sensitivity issues common in attempts by others to make small credit card size devices," Fjelstad said. The company further says the Cube is easier to install than its predecessor model.

Procon specializes in subprime automotive finance applications. In November 2008, it inked a merger deal with DriveOK in which it acquired 100 percent of the GPS tracking equipment and service supplier and its affiliates. DriveOK supplies tracking systems for buy-here/pay-here automotive sales, as well as for small fleet applications.
