April 24, 2006 By: GPS World Staff Survey & Construction EnewsletterSAN RAFAEL, Calif., April 19, 2006—Autodesk, Inc. today announced that Jonathan Knowles, Autodesk Global Collaboration Strategist, will present at the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping Annual Conference (Orlando, FL) on Monday, April 24th at 10:30am and 2:00pm. Knowles will share Autodesk’s vision and perspective for best practices that address the growing complexity and visual richness of GIS and geospatial data (2D and 3D), and how the Autodesk DWF platform helps customers meet these challenges and realize their ideas.
Mr. Knowles will explain how Autodesk customer, Lincoln Electric Systems, is already successfully addressing collaboration challenges and realizing the benefits of faster turnaround from reduced costs related to paper and plan delivery. Lincoln Electric Systems is leveraging DWF to provide its field maintenance crews with immediate access to nearly 40,000 construction maps, drawings and schematics from any location. DWF provides built-in redlining capabilities to streamline the updating process, and ensure that markups, changes and critical notes can be shared on the worksite. Mr. Knowles will demonstrate how attendees and their teams can realize similar benefits.
