NovAtel Inc. has introduced the newest member of its OEM6 next-generation receiver family: the OEM615. At 46 x 71 x 11 millimeters and weighing 24 grams, the diminutive OEM615 provides precise positioning in a familiar, compact form factor.
As with all NovAtel OEM6 series receivers, the OEM615 tracks existing and planned GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Compass signals. With 120 dynamic channels configured to track GPS + GLONASS L1/L2 now, it offers future-ready performance for constellations and signals yet to become operational. The backward compatibility of the OEM615 with NovAtel’s OEMV-1 series form factor offers integrators an efficient way to bring powerful GPS-GLONASS capable products to market quickly.
Support for NovAtel’s suite of performance-enhancing firmware options, including AdVance RTK, ALIGN, GL1DE, and RAIM, allows users to configure the OEM615 for their unique application needs, NovAtel said. The OEM615 also supports Application Programming Interface (API) functionality providing system developers the ability to eliminate system hardware, reducing development time and resulting in faster time to market.
Gord Dale, vice president of marketing for NovAtel, stated, “The new OEM615 receiver is ideal for space constrained applications such as unmanned vehicles, survey, aerospace, and defense. Our new OEM6 series card delivers the quality, reliability, and high-performance customers are accustomed to from NovAtel, only in an ultra-compact form factor.
