Hemisphere GPS and Carlson Software Establish Strategic Alliance
February 16, 2012Today, Hemisphere GPS and Carlson Software announced a strategic alliance. This alliance will provide a roadmap for new, integrated solutions for land survey, mapping, construction, mining and other key machine control markets. Hemisphere GPS said. Carlson Software is a developer of field and office-based land development software.
This strategic alliance is part of Hemisphere GPS’s recent formation of their survey and construction group, where the two companies will combine their expertise to develop GNSS-based solutions that improve the efficiency and performance in several applications including data collection, land development design and earth moving. Recently, collaborations with Carlson include survey data collection software that supports Hemisphere GPS’ new S320 GNSS survey receiver system.
"Hemisphere GPS’ GNSS technology, guidance terminals and other hardware technologies are the ideal complement to Carlson Software products,” says Randy Noland, vice president of Carlson Software Machine Control. "This partnership will help us bring application centric solutions to the market much faster. The solutions will enhance the complete design-build project lifecycle.”
Hemisphere GPS’ patented technologies such as Eclipse GNSS receivers and Vector GNSS compasses provide precise positioning and heading to survey, guidance and machine control solutions. Integrating with Carlson’s software packages such as SurvCE, Carlson Grade and Carlson Civil Suite will provide value in performance and capability, Hemisphere GPS said.
The open architectures used by both companies ensure that their land development solutions will continue to provide greater application flexibility and compatibility with other existing products, further maximizing customer investments, Hemisphere GPS said.
