Software GPS![]() Fastrax December 2, 2009 Fastrax’s Software GPS is designed to provide high-volume consumer devices with a low RF cost per unit (~$1), high-sensitivity performance at 1163 dBm, and a low processor power requirement. It has very low MIPS and memory requirements because the foundation of the architecture is originally designed for minimal resource consumption in embedded environments. Based on iSuite embedded software architecture, functionality and performance can be customized to each device. Full control is maintained with a parameter system of more than 200 parameters and with signal-processing in software. The GPS is easily adjusted to available processor capacity and, if required, even to additional GNSS such as Galileo. Porting Fastrax Software GPS to new operating systems and hardware platforms is quick and straightforward due to the high level of portability in the original iSuite architecture. |
