Navteq Debuts Mobile Marketing Platform to U.S. Broadcasters

August 12, 2010

Map supplier Navteq has announced the availability of the Navteq Mobile Marketing Platform to U.S. TV and radio broadcasters. The self-serve Mobile Marketing Platform enables broadcasters to cross-market program and advertising content to mobile phone users and to create new ways to monetize by extending advertising opportunities to the mobile channel, Navteq said.

Navteq's Mobile Marketing Platform helps broadcasters create and manage an array of consumer engagement activities, including creation and deployment of applications, mobile websites, and opt-in SMS campaigns, the company said. The platform enables broadcasters and their advertisers to extend their reach into mobile to build deeper relationships with consumers. Broadcasters can use the platform to cross-market to mobile phone users incentives such as special offers, coupons, sweepstakes, and loyalty programs — and offer their advertisers the means to do so as well.

"Navteq lets broadcasters intelligently tap into the rich potential of mobile," said Christopher Rothey, vice president, advertising, Navteq. "Navteq's mobile marketing platform is the solution that general managers have been looking to capitalize on the revenue potential of mobile."

Among broadcasters, Navteq is already a trusted resource for its Navteq Traffic services, which provides high quality traffic data spanning 85 markets, 750 radio and 66 television affiliates.

The Mobile Marketing Platform is the marketing counterpoint to Navteq's groundbreaking LocationPoint advertising service, which delivers ads to GPS-connected consumers as they approach points of purchase and guides them to nearby retailers.
