SiRF Seeks Presentation Submissions for Location 2.0
July 24, 2008SiRF Technology has announced that its second annual Location 2.0 Summit will be held in San Francisco on September 10, 2008, asking for LBS technology and applications developers to submit products and services for the event's Fast-Pitch sessions and awards.
Fast-Pitch presentations are three-minute sessions where developers get to pitch their LBS applications to more than 250 location industry executives in attendance, according to SiRF. Entries should demonstrate the benefits of using location to enhance the daily lives of individuals, enterprises and communities, and will be judged for inclusion in the summit on how well they achieve this goal, according to the GPS chip maker.
After the sessions, participants will get to vote for their favorite Fast-Pitch presentations, and the winners will receive a People's Choice Award during the evening award ceremony. SiRF is now accepting Fast Pitch entries through August 15, 2008. Entries are open to all developers of current or soon-to-be-released location technologies and LBS applications, the company said. Entries will be judged by Kanwar Chadha, SiRF founder and vice president of marketing, and wireless industry analyst Andrew Seybold. Three finalists will be chosen for each of the three panel discussion sessions. Finalists will be notified by August 20, 2008 of their selection, and will be provided with instructions for preparing their Fast-Pitch presentation, SiRF said.
