Rob Lorimer

Rob Lorimer is managing director of Position One Consulting. He has served as CEO of Beeline Technology (now part of Hemisphere GPS), managing director of Trimble Asia-Pacific, and OEM business manager for Trimble Europe. He is on the advisory committee of the International Global Navigation Satellite Society (IGNSS), is a regional judge for the European Satellite Navigation Competition, and has worked in professional GPS applications since 1987.

Lorimer co-authored, with GPS World Survey & Construction editor Eric Gakstatter, GNSS Precise Positioning Market Report, 2008–2012, an in-depth market research report detailing GNSS technology, value chain, and markets. Excerpted briefly in the November 2008 issue of the magazine, the report predicts that in the next five years, precision GNSS technology will evolve from a niche technology to an essential productivity tool in global industries with a value of $8 billion.
