3-GIS to Demonstrate at the Emergency Preparedness for Utilities Conference
March 10, 20113-GIS, a GIS software development and services company based in Decatur, Alabama, will demonstrate Command Center at the O'Neil Management Consulting Conference on Emergency Preparedness and Service Restoration for Utilities in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 16-18.
Command Center is an Esri-enabled operational picture and situational awareness solution. Command Center, designed to be used to follow, visualize, and manage daily operations in a single view, can quickly flash over into an integrated Emergency Operations Command Center when an incident presents itself.
The daily operational configuration can show crew locations, network status, customer issues, meter statuses, weather, and identify operational challenges and opportunities. When faced with major operational events (ice storms, hurricanes, earth quakes), 3-GIS Command Center quickly reconfigures to take the role of a data aggregation engine to inform the Operations Center of impact assessment and degree of damage, in a single view. With that data quickly aggregated, the OC Manager can then coordinate (including data-fusion) with local emergency management associations, hospitals, rescue organizations, volunteers, and supply-chain participants to begin rapid recovery and restoration.
"I'm excited to be able to both demonstrate the capabilities of the 3-GIS Command Center regarding emergency management activities and to hear reports on the experiences of utility companies in this vital area." said Eric Fulcher, Vice President of Utilities, 3-GIS.
