The Rakon GRM8562 is a complete miniature RF front-end that includes a high-dynamic range low-noise amplifier (LNA) and Surface Accoustic Wave (SAW) filter giving excellent performance on passive antennas. The module includes a TCXO and translates L1-band signals to a filtered 4 MHz intermediate frequency (IF), which is converted to a 2-bit data format for connection to the base band. The GRM8652 offers a range of streaming data output options, making it suitable for software GNSS applications. The module is in a 6 x 8.2 x 1.6 millimeter SMD package and has a cascaded noise figure of 1.8 dB. It can be used in Galileo and general GPS products, reducing bill of materials and development costs.
