Galileo Application Days Set for March in Brussels

February 2, 2010

Galileo Application Days is set for March 3-5, 2010, in Brussels, Belgium, with live demonstrations of  cutting-edge applications developed for GNSS under the European Union's 7th Research Framework Programme (FP7), former ESNC Competitions, the ESA Technology Transfer Programme, and national and regional initiatives.

Attendees will learn about new GNSS R funds available through the 3rd FP7 call for proposals to be launched later in 2010.

On March 3, activities offered include a global GNSS leaders roundtable, SME Venture Academy and expert coaching, a Galileo Applications Day exhibition, and a press event. The second day offers the kick-off of the seventh European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) 2010, as well as financing innovation and the Battle of the Sectors, where attendees can find out the latest developments in GNSS uptake and success in key business sectors.

Those attending can meet industry representatives in dedicated one-to-one Business Speed Meetings. Register before 5 February to receive a list of potential partners. Another option is to present application ideas in an Elevator Pitch and receive direct expert feedback on the technology and the market. The partner regions of the European Satellite Navigation Competition will be available in the Regional Pavilion.

On both days, live demonstrations of new GNSS products and services will be held in the Applications Village, where attendees can race against Formula1 drivers on a gaming console, detect urban pollution on location, get real-time pictures and videos from a flight robot, and experience first hand new GNSS innovations.

Friday concludes with market overviews, industry keynotes, success stories, more demonstrations, and elevator pitches.

Galileo Application Days will be held at the Charlemagne Conference Centre, Charlemagne Building, 170 Rue de la Loi (Wetstraat), BE-1049  Brussels, Belgium.
