Space Applications Centre of India Selects IFEN’s GNSS Simulator for IRNSS Development and Testing

July 29, 2011

The Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System (IRNSS) payload system engineering group of the Space Applications Centre (SAC) in Ahmedabad, India, has selected IFEN’s multi‐constellation and multi‐frequency GNSS RF simulator NavX‐NCS Professional as the new reference simulator for its IRNSS development and testing. The simulator will be used for research and development and testing activities in the frame of the ongoing Indian IRNSS program.

“The decision of the Space Application Centre for our GNSS RF Navigation Constellation Simulator NavX‐NCS as a reference in the official IRNSS space program of the Indian government represents another milestone for our product,” explains Günter Heinrichs, head of customer applications. “We are proud to add the first governmental institution — the Space Applications Centre (SAC) of India in Ahmedabad — as further important reference customer."

IFEN offers two types of GNSS RF constellation signal simulators to meet customers' GNSS testing needs and applications. The NavX‐NCS is a flexible and capable RF signal generator for multi‐GNSS constellations, IFEN said. With up to 108 signal channels and nine L‐band frequencies, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, SBAS, and QZSS can be simulated simultaneously.
