Angela Dorsey of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory gives an overview of her presentation at the conference of the International Association of Instititutes of Navigation, meeting in Stockholm Sweden. Her presentation is titled "A Ground-based Real-time Demonstration of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Tracking and Data Relay Satellite Services (TDRSS) Augmentation Service for Satellites (TASS). The work uses a JPL-created Blackjack GPS receiver similar to the one aboard the JASON-2 satellite launched last year. JASON-1 is a satellite oceanography mission to monitor global ocean circulation, study the ties between the ocean and the atmosphere, and to improve global climate forecasts and predictions.
