Topcon Provides 3D Dataset to Autodesk
February 23, 2010Topcon Positioning Systems announced that it recently signed a data license agreement with Autodesk, Inc., a world leader in 2D and 3D design, engineering and entertainment software. The agreement authorizes Autodesk to use Topcon’s IP-S2 3D Mobile Mapping System data sets in the advertising, marketing, training and distribution of their software where desired. The IP-S2 datasets are in the form of extensive geo-referenced, colorized point clouds.
Charles Rihner, vice president of Topcon’s Emerging Business Unit, said, “We are excited to provide the IP-S2 datasets to Autodesk as we believe it enables them to highlight the many features of their software in a way that reflects their customer’s current and future requirements.”
