MapDotNet UX Adds, Oracle Spatial, KML File Support

June 2, 2009

ISC, maker of MapDotNet UX, is now providing support for Oracle Spatial and the KML file format in MapDotNet UX; version 7.00.0063 is now available for download on the MapDotNet website.

In this release, the Oracle Spatial and KML connectors are to be considered release candidates, according to ISC. Customers are invited to engage the ISC product development team via the MapDotNet UX Developer Forum and provide feedback. Support for these two data source types has been a prominent request from MapDotNet UX customers since its release in the fourth quarter of 2008, according to the company.

The update provides support for map rendering, querying, and editing Oracle Spatial data, as well as rendering from and querying KML files. Using MapDotNet UX Studio, users can load data from KML or Oracle Spatial into other supported spatially enabled databases, according to ISC. MapDotNet UX retains its support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008, ESRI ArcSDE, PostGIS, and shapefiles.
