The enhanced LEA-6H GPS module by u-blox supports GLONASS navigation. u-blox is a fabless semiconductor provider of embedded positioning and wireless communication solutions for the consumer, industrial, and automotive markets.

GLONASS-based navigation systems will soon be required to be used by all vehicles transporting passengers, large volumes, or hazardous materials in Russia, according to the Russian Ministry of Transport. Additionally, next-generation navigation systems that implement both GPS and GLONASS receivers will be able to provide a higher level of performance for positioning systems worldwide. First customer samples of the u-blox GPS/GLONASS receivers are scheduled for the second half of 2011.
