[No audio on this track] Demo models from the Institute of Navigation's first Mini-Urban Challenge, a contest among high school students for miniature autonomous vehicles, took the center ring on the floor at the ION GNSS Exhibition. High school students worked in teams of 3 to 10 to design and operate a robotic unmanned car built from a LEGO Mindstorms kit that can accurately navigate through a LEGO city. Challenge Co-chairs First Lieutenants Casey Miller and Caroline New of the Air Force Research Laboratory presented results of the 2009 event, and unveiled plans for the 2010 Challenge, sponsored by ION and the Air Force Research Laboratory.
